It's no accident that these beautiful, highly detailed treasures combine painting and drafting skills while uniting baseball and art. Emily M. Wolfson is the Founder, CEO, and Art Director of Conversation Pieces, Inc., which produces these limited edition baseball collectibles. With a degree in architecture from Washington University, she began her career as an architect in a New York City firm, where she developed a highly stylized approach to architectural renderings. While that led to exhibitions of both her architectural and non-architectural works at regional festivals and shows and frequent commissions for use on both furniture and residential interiors, Wolfson is primarily a miniaturist at heart, and a creative experiment in early 1994 led her to hand-paint intricate designs on genuine, white leather baseballs as gifts, leading to the establishment of Conversation Pieces, Inc., to market Unforgettaballs!. In the intervening years, she has continued to make use of the drawing and drafting skills gained from her architectural background to create remarkably detailed, scale appropriate paintings on official game baseballs. Virtually anyone who has seen and held an Unforgettaball agrees that they are among the finest, most unusual baseball collectables and team memorabilia available anywhere, at any price. A New Jersey native, and one of 4 daughters of a physician father, Wolfson's love of sports grew out of the quality time she was able to spend with her busy father — at sporting events. Now a working mother of two young boys and a resident of Philadelphia's renowned Main Line, she and her husband are continuing that legacy, instilling in their sons a love of both sports and family time, as well as a love of all things creative. Out of a serendipitous experiment, and in a rare confluence, Wolfson has discovered a way to combine her love of art and sports, a way to create the work that most interests her: "beauty on an unexpected canvas." |
